Our Story
Walk in the dark, so that others might find the light.
Teachers are the porch light for the practice, letting the student discover their inner cosmos. Whether subtle or dynamic, each offering is an opportunity to discover glimpses of wholeness.
Dave’s spiritual practice emerged from a hot yoga studio more than 15 years ago, but was cultivated in truck stops, hotel parking lots, and greenrooms across the country. For over a decade, Dave sailed the concrete sea as tour manager for musicians. Eventually, the fates intervened, gifting two surgeries and wellformed ego holding tight. Thankfully, a busted body blissed him into finding his life’s work of healing (hisself).
As mind and body reunited again on the yoga mat and meditation cushions, stillness crept in. Dave attended his first teaching training in 2016. Now, annually completes a trainings to deepen a definition of yoga. Dave operates a humble healing space in the Bywater - a neighborhood where his family has lived for 7 generations.
It’s through this ancestral root that Dave was able reconnect to holistic healing. In 2017, he learned sound therapy, Svara/Nada Yoga, and shamanic journeying in the Himalayas. The exploration of hollowing out has connected him with elders and mentors in Rishikesh, India, Cotopaxi, Ecuador, Aravaipa, New Mexico, and Mendocino, CA. He creates healing soundscapes that interplay song, singing bowls, tuning forks, and drumming, with field recordings, circuit bent synthesizers and homemade droning devices. Sometimes called a Synth Bath or Vibrational Medicine, it’s always yoga.
