Creating ease is the goal in every asana, especially in the uneasy poses.

Yoga & Yoga Therapy
All yoga can have therapeutic benefits, however accessibility to these benefits may be hindered physically or mentally through blockages or chronic ailments. When approached with a trauma informed perspective, taking away the expectations of what yoga needs to feel and be for everyone, it allows for the body to begin to release stored habits, behaviors and past traumas. Growth can happen with a short moment and union body mind and spirit can be regained with a skillful practice.
The pace of most classes are slower with the emphasis on allowing the pose work vs working on the pose. There is plenty of that also, as classes can be dynamic and challenging, but intention remains on the benefits that come through deepening awareness in the shapes and channeling the natural energy of the body through breathe. Props like ropes, bamboo poles, chairs and latter walls (Kurunta Yoga) support healthy learning and releases the hesitation (or even fear) that can exist in some postures. The releasing of this tension can increase flexibility and overall wellbeing of the body, but also increase neurplasticity and reduce anxiety and depression.
